The best romantic coastal destinations in the world are a few clicks away for now … enjoy this virtual vacation! 😉 Dying to escape somewhere filled with salt spray and sunshine? If you’ve been staring at the same four walls for too long, it might be time to start planning a dreamy coastal getaway.
And trust me — I get it.
The minute I began a plant-based lifestyle, I NEEDED a fried chicken sandwich.
The only time my husband has ever craved sushi is when the local sushi bar was shut down.
And the time we are itching to travel most is when there’s a “Stay Home” ordinance in place thanks to a certain global pandemic. Isn’t that just how it goes? You always want what you can’t have.
Although I will remain in my cozy home now and not travel anywhere for many months, you can’t stop a girl from scouring the internet to find pretty places to dream about going to one day!
Ahead, discover the top six best romantic coastal destinations to travel to when it’s safe to travel again.
Mallorca, Spain
Mallorca is known for its dramatic scenery, untouched beauty, and — closer into the heart of town — partying. No clubs for me, but wading into these crystal-clear waters wouldn’t be too shabby.
Scrolling through pictures of Mallorca is enough to make you want to pack your bags and head out ASAP… you’ve been warned!
Isle of Skye, Scotland
Who else could go for a wee dram right about now?! Scotland’s wild, rugged beauty has inspired generations of artists and writers for good reason. Though it’s a popular summer destination, it still feels like an unspoiled part of the earth.
If you seek craggy mountainside, breathtaking water views, romantic excursions and hikes, and some of the world’s oldest castles, Isle of Skye should be on your bucket list.

Zakynthos, Greece
HOW ARE YOU REAL?!
This dreamy Greek island in the Ionian Sea looks almost fake, it’s so pretty. It has a beach and caves to explore, according to Hand Luggage Only (whose pictures just about take my breath away!). If you are seeking sunshine and bright colors, I don’t think you need to look much further.
Inambakan Waterfalls, Cebu, Philippines
Somehow, this picture sums up everything I picture about island life in the Philippines — lush, neon waters, wild.
Even though I know it isn’t all sunshine and waterfalls, it would certainly be a change of scenery from my East Coast view! Many bloggers and travelers have pictures posted of swimming in the falls but… am I the only one who’d be terrified of the *wildlife* present in those waters?! Yowza.

Tulum, Mexico
Tulum, the ancient walled city in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, is loved for its sandy beaches and stunning sunrises. And, it’s the home to well-preserved ancient Mayan Ruins. The structure is perched right above pristine waters, offering an unbeatable double-punch of history and beauty.
The Expert Vagabond explains that the beach right below the Mayan Ruins (below the main structure) is actually pretty secluded, but you can go on it while you visit the site!
My best friend went to Tulum on her honeymoon a couple of years ago, and it looked TOTALLY relaxing and wonderful. I’m wondering if I should add it to my travel bucket list…
Seychelles
Again … I repeat: HOW ARE YOU REAL?!?! I swear, this is the kind of place that seems only to exist on computer screensavers.
Recently, I watched some travel show that featured the Seychelles Islands off the coast of East Africa, and now I’m utterly entranced. Check out Avenly’s blog post for a full recap of all there is to do there. I think just sitting still and gawking would keep me occupied for a minimum of three weeks.
