Don’t let little spaces limit you! These clever organization hacks for small bedrooms are ideal for making the most of your apartment, dorm, or small spaces.
Take it from someone who lives with a very large husband in a very small condo 🙃 These bedroom organization tips and tricks will be a lifesaver when you need to create more storage space out of thin air.
So, jump on these eight organization hacks ASAP:
Organization Hack #1 for Small Bedrooms: Utilize Hanging Brackets
Have a blank wall in your closet? A blank corner that could use a pop of color? Easily hang your favorite scarves, pants or bags where you can clearly see all of them.
This a great way to show off your favorite designer purses or pieces! Here’s an example of what they look like, but you could obviously swap out jeans for cuter statement pieces.
Organization Hack #2 for Small Bedrooms: Use Multi-Functional Display Items
Super-small bedrooms may not have space enough for a full bedside table, shelves and wall art — but they may have room for one thing that works as all three!
This small bedroom — found on BHG — incorporates storage for nighttime needs (like the cupholder) decorative items (like the plant) and daily-use essentials (like the book). So clever!

Organization Hack #3 for Small Bedrooms: Use the Backs of Doors
Closet doors are coveted storage spaces that are often overlooked! Many people use pantry door organizers in their kitchen — why not attempt the same concept in the bedroom?
Use it as a staging ground for outfits and getting ready, store shoes there, hang two rows of hooks for jackets and robes — options are endless!
I used a shoe organizer like this during college, and it was perfect for what I needed.
Organization Hack #4 for Small Bedrooms: Quadruple Your Closet Space with Wardrobe Space Savers
If you have a small closet (or a big closet with LOTS of clothes ;), you need these brilliant space savers.
You can hang several pieces on one strip, then they hang down — so you get the extra hanging space without wrinkling your favorite pieces!
Organization Hack #5 for Small Bedrooms: Under-bed Shoe Drawers
Have a shoe-shopping habit, but don’t have the closet that can keep up?
These drawers are the ideal solution! Credit for this idea goes to House Beautiful — I think this is so smart, and want to order some for my house!
The drawer pictured is from Ikea. Here is a similar one from Amazon:
And if you don’t have a bed skirt, it’s probably worth getting pretty ones like these since you’ll be able to see the storage racks! (Here is an inexpensive option that’s non-ruffly if you prefer clean lines!)

Organization Hack #6 for Small Bedrooms: Use (Many) Mirrors
Mirrors bounce light off of them, making spaces appear bigger and brighter. A full-length mirror can be a gorgeous decor item — as well as super practical. (Let’s hear it again for those multi-purpose furniture pieces!)
Here’s a less expensive, over-the-door version of a similar thing:
Organization Hack #7 for Small Bedrooms: Use Every Corner and Cranny…
This space-saving corner shelf unit is a great way to get some stylish storage in a corner or nook in your bedroom!
By going with a tall, skinny corner shelf, you can squeeze more use out of a space that’s too slim for a regular shelving unit.
This one from Amazon is well reviewed — I’d normally be wary of one this cheap but it has over 9000 great reviews, haha!
Organization Hack #8 for Small Bedrooms: Hook It Up
Command strips, gold hooks, or other — this can be a space-saving hack that’ll change your game.
Evenly space out your hooks on a wall where it makes sense for you, then display your necklaces, hats and handbags with pride.
The key to keeping it from looking cluttered and messy is to keep just ONE item per hook, and make sure the hanging items are relatively symmetrical.
If you try to weigh the hooks down with a million items, it’s just going to add to your visual clutter — and that’s the opposite of your goal!
